Who Am I?
“I’m Darius L. Francis, a U.S. Army veteran, entrepreneur, and community advocate running to represent District 115 in Dekalb County and Henry County.
I was raised in South Miami by my grandmother in low-income housing. Growing up with hard work, discipline, and the ability to do more with less shaped my perspective on the world. I believe everyone deserves genuine choices in representation—leaders who can echo their concerns and fight for them in the places where decisions are made, rather than just voices that talk at them.
I served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, completing two combat tours in Afghanistan. This experience instilled in me the values of leadership under pressure, accountability, and the importance of protecting the people you serve. After my military service, I transitioned into entrepreneurship and community advocacy, engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds to listen to their struggles, goals, and frustrations with a system that often feels disconnected.
Why I’m Running?
“South Dekalb and Henry County are experiencing rapid growth. This can either be a blessing or a burden, depending on who bears the cost.
I’m running to ensure that responsible growth in our communities benefits residents, not just developers; that homeowners aren’t priced out of their own neighborhoods; that our infrastructure, schools, and public safety measures keep pace with the growth; and that the needs of seniors and working families are respected and not overlooked.
I believe that government should be accountable, practical, and deeply rooted in the real lives of the people it represents. My goal is straightforward: to be a voice you recognize, a leader you can reach, and a representative who shows up and gets the important work done.
